Eatstopeat ReviewEat Stop Eat by Brad Pilon is an interesting take on the idea of dieting by using intermittent fasting as a way to cut down your calorie intake while not having to count everything you eat.
I must admit when I came to review this I did it with skepticism as we are all taught that fasting is unhealthy, that is probably why the first 57 pages just take you through why he is qualified to advise you (he used to be a researcher at a leading supplement company) and how he came up with fasting as a way to lose weight in a healthy manner.
The book is very professional and the fact he was a researcher shows through in the way he justifies everything and provides scientific studies to back things up, in fact there are 3 and a bit pages of the studies listed at the back of the guide! It certainly changed the way I looked at fasting.

Eatstopeat Review

It is a simple concept and makes it easy to cut down your weekly calories without having to prepare special meals or do anything extraordinary. The way the author advises you to do the 24 hour fasts also stops you going a full day without having any food which really helps you mentally stick to it much easier.
He also advises you to do some strength training to keep your muscles healthy while you diet. This is apparently supposed to be done for any low calorie diet it is not something specific to this method of losing weight. It is only discussed though, you are not given any specific exercises to do so you would have to find them elsewhere if you want to do them.
The main guide is 91 pages and if you go for the Deluxe version you also get a 121 page guide on the truth about eating protein and building muscle (very detailed but if you are not trying to build big muscles then not much help).
The advanced version gives you a ‘Ten Day Diet Solution’ guide which teaches you how to develop 3 new good eating habits (out of ten – you try them all and choose your favourites) so you can be more healthy and lose even more weight.
You also get a pdf transcription of some fitness experts interviewing the author about the diet and an audio file ‘Why Diets Stop Working’ which reveals the real reason why people reach a plateau in their diets and how to get around it.
Plus you get the ‘Advanced’ files on the main system, which are just a more indepth look into the science behind the system rather than any advanced techniques that will help you take the diet to the next level.
